The Newport Borough Planning commission consists of five members, each serving a four-year term. Responsibilities include the review of plans for subdivision and land developments submitted to the Borough for compliance with the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance.
Following review, plans are forwarded to the Borough Council with a recommendation for final approval or denial. The Planning Commission reviews the current Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, and is involved in long-term comprehensive planning issues.
The Planning Commission meets the second Monday of every month at 7:00 P.M., in the Borough Office.
